The Pittsburgh Steelers currently have a tremendous quarterback/wide receiver duo on their roster with Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown. The connection between those two players very well could be considered one of the best in not only the NFL today, but also in league history, and the duo has set the bar extremely high for those to follow.
If there are two players who wouldn’t mind etching out their own place in Steelers lore, it would be rookies Mason Rudolph and James Washington. The quarterback/receiver duo from Oklahoma State have a built in connection after winning games in the Big 12 together, and they bring this connection to the NFL level in the 412 area code.
How deep is the connection between Rudolph and Washington? While attending the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Robert Klemko asked each player, privately, to write down the other’s favorite play from Oklahoma State was.
Check out the results below:
Got Mason Rudolph and James Washington together to talk about playing at OK state and getting drafted to the Steelers together. Asked them to privately write down what they thought the other's favorite play from school was. It was adorbs. pic.twitter.com/XanZNAY4Ow

While this would certainly fall under the category of an “offseason story”, it does go to show the two have a rapport already established that very few in the league have when leaving college and entering the professional ranks. If/when Rudolph takes over the reigns as Steelers quarterback, there will be things like hand signals, verbiage and possibly even a simple look during a game which can make or break a play.
This is the same connection Roethlisberger and Brown have built over years together in Pittsburgh, and Rudolph and Washington are already on their way before even stepping onto an NFL field together.
Some will chalk this up to nothing, yet I view it as a pretty special situation for both players as they begin their NFL careers in the Steel City.
