If you aren’t paying attention to the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2018 list, and I’m sure many of you aren’t, up until the network announced the players listed 50-41, the Pittsburgh Steelers were completely absent from the list.
Some call this disrespect, but you can also look at it as the simple fact the Steelers’ roster was loaded with talent which could only be viewed as Top 50 players.
Either way, the Steelers finally cracked the list, and did so in a big way.
First to be called was defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, who was listed No. 48. Heyward didn’t make the list in 2017, and his 12 sack season put him in the top half of the league’s best in 2017.

Next up was inside linebacker Ryan Shazier, who was one spot ahead of Heyward at No. 47. This was Shazier’s first time on the list, and although his season was cut short due to his neck injury which required spine stabilization surgery, he found his way on the best of 2017 list.

Last, but certainly not least, on the most recent episode of the NFL’s Top 100 was guard David DeCastro. DeCastro was No. 97 on the list last year, and improved to No. 44 this year. Talk about a huge jump from one year to the next. Nonetheless, he is a Pro Bowler and considered one of the best guards in the NFL.

Should these players have been listed higher? Or were the voters a little too generous with some players? Let us know in the comment section below, and be sure to check back to BTSC to see who lands on the list next for the black-and-gold.
