Watch Ryan Shazier deliver an inspiring message to Pittsburgh Public School seniors

The man who could probably use some inspiration used his platform, and story, to inspire others.

Ryan Shazier is a special human being.

For Pittsburgh Steelers fans, they knew this long before his debilitating injury in December on a Monday night game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. But for the majority of the NFL fan base, they are just now realizing how special Shazier is as both a player, and person.

Shazier has continued to battle back from his back injury, and just a few months has gone from partial paralysis in his lower body, to walking. When he delivered the Steelers first round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. What an inspiration for anyone dealing with, or facing, adversity in their own lives.

Nonetheless, Shazier isn’t content just inspiring others through his story, he is taking his message to others in unique ways. Whether it be on social media, at Penguins games or most recently speaking to Pittsburgh Public School seniors before they head off to their future endeavors.

Shazier spoke about his trials and tribulations which struck him well before his back injury. He spoke about how he feels growing up with alopecia and having scoliosis in his back helped make him a stronger man, and to prepare him for the journey he currently finds himself on.

This is the first time Shazier has really opened up and talked publicly, and his words cut to the core. Take a look at the speech below, and if it doesn’t show, you can watch it by clicking HERE.

Lastly, always SHALIEVE!
