The Pittsburgh Steelers fan base is a rabid bunch. In fact, rabid might be an understatement, and when this fan base, who view each other as family, feel they are crossed — watch out.
For many, not all, Steelers fans, this is how they view Le’Veon Bell at the current time.
After 2014, when Bell exploded onto the scene, he could do no wrong. Then off-field instances combined with some not-so-smart comments on social media have turned him into a lightning rod for criticism.
During this time, some fans have forgotten just how good a player he is, and how integral he is to the Pittsburgh offense in 2018, and possibly moving forward.
With that in said, it was interesting to hear Antonio Brown’s comments about Bell after the NFL Network aired their final episode of their Top 100 players of 2017 list. Brown was asked about Bell, and what kind of teammate he is, and his words spoke volumes.
Brown posted this on his verified instagram account...
If that isn’t a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is.
While this is unlikely to sway any fans with a bad taste in their mouths over Bell’s contract demands, it should at least give a glimpse as to how Bell’s teammates feel about his as a player.
The Steelers and Bell have until July 16th to negotiate a new long-term contract, and if they are unable to do so Bell would be forced to play under the Franchise Tag for the second straight year.
Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest on this story, among others, as the team prepares for training camp on July 25th.
