Latest list of official NFL jersey sales features two Steelers in Top 24

The Steelers are one of only six teams in the NFL with multiple players among the biggest jersey sellers since the Draft.

With an influx of new talent arriving every year via the NFL Draft, it's perhaps unsurprising to note how an excited fan base will often rush to buy the shirt of a rookie their team has just selected. But following the release of the latest list of official jersey sales by NFLShop.com for April through mid-June, it would appear the surge to embrace the next generation of potential superstars has been a bit slower than usual this year.

While New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley holds the No. 1 spot, only four other rookies made the Top-24. As one of only six teams with multiple players on the list, the Pittsburgh Steelers were represented by wide receivers Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, coming in at No.12 and No.21 respectively.

1. Saquon Barkley

2. Jimmy Garoppolo

3. Carson Wentz

4. Tom Brady

5. Baker Mayfield

6. Nick Foles

7. Sam Darnold

8. Marcus Mariota

9. Dak Prescott

10. Ezekiel Elliott

11. Jason Witten

12. Antonio Brown

13. Aaron Rodgers

14. Odell Beckham Jr.

15. Kirk Cousins

16. Josh Allen

17. Jalen Ramsey

18. Mitchell Trubisky

19. Zach Ertz

20. Derek Carr

21. JuJu Smith-Schuster

22. Lamar Jackson

23. Rob Gronkowski

24. Richard Sherman

Overall, only 16 teams in the league are represented in the Top-24 and, with the exception of Barkley at No. 1 and Ezekiel Elliott at No.10, the rest of the top-10 are all quarterbacks. Brown comes in as the highest-ranked receiver on the list, with Odell Beckham Jr. and Smith-Schuster the only other wideouts to make the grade.

With rookie Baker Mayfield making a showing for the Cleveland Browns and Lamar Jackson featuring for the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals are the AFC North team without a representative. Oddly, it seems Andy Dalton jerseys are not a big seller.

In a sign of just how offensive-minded many fans are when it comes to following the NFL, it's interesting to note that only two defensive players appear on this list. Hoping to do my part to readdress the imbalance, I'll be purchasing a Mike Hilton jersey ahead of the 2018 season.
