Report: Ben Roethlisberger leaves final training camp practice early after hitting head on turf

The Pro Bowl quarterback was down on the turf for an extended period of time before being escorted off the field.

The Pittsburgh Steelers worst nightmare panned out on Tuesday, the team’s final training camp practice, when Ben Roethlisberger went down during the final play of the team’s “7 Shots” period of practice.

While the severity of the injury isn’t known yet, here is what we know from the beat writers who are their and watching things unfold live:

The latest update from Latrobe High School, where the practice was moved due to weather, is Roethlisberger is up and moving around. This is good news regarding an injury to his lower body. There is some speculation he may have slammed his head against the turf. Either way, he is being monitored, and we will keep you up to date on how this unfolds.
