The Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Philadelphia Eagles in their first preseason game of the year on Thursday night at 7.00 p.m. ET, and we have all the information you need to know to follow the action.
Despite their cross-state rivalry, the Steelers play the Eagles only once every four years now that they belong to different conferences. But prior to 1967, their matchups were biannual affairs. The last time the two sides met during the preseason was a 2016 game won by Philadelphia 17-0, and their last meeting in the regular season was a devastating 34-3 loss for the Steelers in Week 3 of that same year.
With the starters expected to see limited action, and several key players set to miss the game due to injury, the coaching staff will care much less about a victory on Thursday night and much more about the caliber of play from the younger names on the roster.
