Steelers Week 4 injury report: Mike Hilton and Morgan Burnett officially doubtful to face Ravens

New, comments

While the Steelers could be without two key starters on defense, they should see the return of Marcus Gilbert and David DeCastro this Sunday

The Pittsburgh Steelers should have their entire complement of starting offensive lineman when they take on the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field after both David DeCastro and Marcus Gilbert were full participants at practice once again on Friday. However, while it appears Pittsburgh could see two key offensive players return to action in Week 4, it looks increasingly likely that two starters on defense might be forced to miss Sunday’s game.

Mike Hilton and Morgan Burnett are the only names to feature on the Steelers’ final injury report and while their doubtful designations do not bode well for their availability against the Ravens, the absence of any other players on the list is positive news for a number of names who missed time in practice this week.

Having sat out training on Wednesday and being limited on Thursday, JuJu Smith-Schuster was able to practice fully on Friday and is expected to play in Week 4. For DeCastro and Gilbert, training every day as full participants is a huge step forward from last week when they were unable to even make it onto the practice field.

With Hilton and Burnett both forced to sit out the last day of training and only able to take part in a limited capacity the day before, it would be a big surprise if either of them made enough of a recovery by Sunday night to be cleared to play.

Despite a long list of players missing practice throughout the week in Baltimore, their official injury report seems to suggest they only have two real concerns for the game.
