While the Pittsburgh Steelers will enter the offseason with 26 players facing free agency in one form or another in 2019, just 16 of those names are set to be unrestricted free agents in the coming months. Unlike in years past, the Steelers are only in danger of losing one key starter during the offseason, with Ramon Foster the most notable player from the team’s efforts in 2018 looking for a new contact.

With the loss of Le’Veon Bell already a forgone conclusion, Pittsburgh’s biggest concerns in free agency will center around a number of key backups in names like Jesse James, Anthony Chickillo and L.J. Fort. Thankfully, B.J. Finney should be easy enough to retain as a restricted free agent, as should Matt Feiler and Mike Hilton as an exclusive rights free agents.

Offensive tackle Zach Banner would have been on this list as an exclusive rights free agent if not for the new contract he signed with the Steelers on Monday. Contrary to reports you may have seen elsewhere, Matt McCrane is already signed through 2019 as well.

Having made 11 new signings since Monday, Pittsburgh now has 49 players under contract for next season and are currently projected to be around $22 million under the cap according to OverTheCap.com.
