Agent Drew Rosenhaus gave his first public statement on behalf of his client since Antonio Brown missed the Steelers Week 17 game against the Bengals.

Antonio Brown may have had little to say in public since missing the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 17 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals beyond teasing an interview with James Harrison on Instagram that never happened, but it appears his agent finally had something to say on his behalf over the weekend.

Appearing on 7 Sports Xtra on Sunday, Drew Rosenhaus offered a short statement in response to a question from the show’s host about Brown’s career being over in Pittsburgh.

“I’m just going to say that Antonio is a great great player, a tremendous competitor, a great teammate and whatever happens this offseason, we’ll make the best of it. I don’t have any particular comment about what the Steelers may or may not do. Antonio has had a Hall of Fame career there and we’ll be ready for whatever happens next.”

While some might take exception to the notion that Brown is a good teammate given the reports coming out of the locker room as of late, there is little else to question in his agent’s statement.

Perhaps the most notable observation to take away from his remarks is a palpable sense that Rosenhaus is far from certain that his client will be returning to Pittsburgh this offseason. With his comments missing any assertion that Brown wants to be back with the Steelers in 2019 either, it would seem Rosenhaus is at least preparing for the prospect of negotiating with a new team this offseason.
