After Week 5 of the NFL season, things are starting to take shape as to who are legitimate contenders in each division. While it’s still early and teams can definitely go on large winning streaks, most teams have pretty much shown where they stand. As the second quarter of the season progresses, the picture will continue to get more and more into focus.
The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers are the only remaining undefeated teams heading into Week 6. New England has already notched their sixth victory on Thursday night while the 49ers get a chance to show yet again they are an NFC powerhouse as they take on last year’s Super Bowl representative, the Los Angeles Rams. For the fifth straight week, a winless team will be guaranteed a victory as the Washington Redskins head to Miami to take on the Dolphins. As for the Steelers, they are just lucky to be in the only division that doesn’t have multiple teams with a winning record.
For the 2019 NFL season, both Jeff Hartman and myself will be picking every game (except Thursdays) against the spread and the over/under point totals. Please remember we are not experts on betting or any kind of sports gamblers. We are just a couple of Steelers’ fans saying who we think will come through each week.
Last week, Jeff and I both finished up fairly average as I was 7-7 against the spread and 8-6 in the over/under. Jeff had identical records but for the opposite categories as he was he was 8-6 against the spread and 7-7 for the over/under. On the season, Jeff is still the only one who has a winning record of any kind, which happens to be in the over/under category while I am hovering right around .500 in both categories.
So here are the picks for the 13 games this Sunday and Monday for Week 6 of the NFL season. Please feel free to list your choices in the comment section below and play along!
