It was a scary moment when Pittsburgh Steelers players, coaches and fans saw Mason Rudolph go down and remain motionless on the ground Sunday at Heinz Field. In the third quarter of the team’s 26-23 overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens Rudolph was hit high by safety Earl Thomas and knocked him unconscious.
Rudolph would walk off the field under his own power, but there was plenty of concern about the young man and his overall well-being. So far reports have been positive, but after the game teammates were clearly concerned after watching their teammate in such a dire situation.
As of now, all we know is Rudolph was sent to the hospital for further evaluation, but was released from the hospital and is now relaxing at his home. All good news up to this point for a hopefully speedy recovery!
After the loss, Steelers players, both current and former, took to Twitter to send their thoughts and prayers to Rudolph as he tries to bounce back better than ever!
See what was said below:
Mason and I talked over the phone. For however many seconds, I was scared about losing my friend, and then God answered my prayers. I love you @Rudolph2Mason
