NFL Expert Picks: Experts aren’t buying into the Steelers as they host the Colts in Week 9

The Pittsburgh Steelers have rebounded nicely from their 0-3 and 1-4 starts to the 2019 season. They have been winners in 3 of their last 4 games, and although some will say it is solely because they have played bad teams, they aren’t about to apologize for their schedule.

The team won’t be playing a bad team on Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts invade Heinz Field in Week 9. The Steelers will have their hands full trying to stop Alex Mack, Jacoby Brissett and company as they hope to continue to extend their winning streak to three games.

Pittsburgh has been a crap shoot this entire season from a prediction standpoint, but it is that time of week where we take a look at what the experts think heading into this huge AFC showdown. Let’s see what they say...

The experts at ESPN, who have the largest expert panel on the internet, have only one expert who thinks the Steelers can beat the Colts at home and move their record to 4-4.

If that is depressing for you, the experts at CBS Sports will cheer you up! Of the eight experts, three like the Steelers to pull off the upset at Heinz Field this Sunday.

To be more specific, CBS Sports expert Pete Prisco gave his own opinion/prediction for the Steelers vs. Colts showdown:

The Steelers are playing on a short week, but this is the game that could decide their season. I think the defense has made strides the past few games and that will continue here. They limit the Colts offense.

Pick: Steelers 24, Colts 17

Although Prisco likes the Steelers, the haters at SB Nation tend to always lean towards whoever the Steelers are playing that particular week. I think they found a way to pick against Pittsburgh even in Week 7 when they were on their bye. Holding true to form, SB Nation has only one expert who thinks the Steelers can win this Sunday.

In the grand scheme of things, these are only a handful of websites who produce weekly picks. What about all the other sites who submit picks? This is where NFL Pick Watch comes in. Will the Steelers be able to stun the world and send shock waves throughout the AFC with a win? Or will they fall back into their old ways and lose to the Colts at home? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure — this game is a big one.
