The Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Rams went head-to-head in Week 10 at Heinz Field. The Steelers came into the game winners of their last three games, and four of their last five games. This game was the last of a three game home stand at home for the black-and-gold, and they would need a big performance from both sides of the ball to extend their winning streak to four games.
Pittsburgh’s offense, led by Mason Rudolph, took the field first with the Rams deferring their possession to the third quarter, and on the third play from scrimmage Maurkice Pouncey snapped the ball over Rudolph’s head and Dante Fowler scooped up the football and ran it into the end zone for the first score of the game.
In the blink of an eye, the Steelers’ offense took the field again down 7-0 with just 20 seconds gone from the first quarter. On third down a Rudolph pass sailed through JuJu Smith-Schuster’s hands and what would have been a first down turned into a Jordan Berry punt.
Both teams shared several punts, Pittsburgh was the first offense to move the ball into the red-zone. After a defensive pass interference call on Jalen Ramsey, Rudolph hit James Washington twice, the second a back shoulder throw for the team’s first touchdown of the game. Chris Boswell’s point-after was good, tying the game 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.
