NFL Expert Picks: Despite being underdogs, experts leaning towards the Steelers in Week 11

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for a road game on a short week vs. the Cleveland Browns. Time to see who the experts like in this matchup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers now have their turn to prepare on a short week for an upcoming Thursday Night Football game in Week 11 as they travel to Cleveland to play the division rival Browns.

The Browns (3-6) and Steelers (5-4) represent two teams on two different trajectories heading into Thursday’s game. The Browns, although winners over the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, have struggled to gain footing and are on the verge of watching those playoff hopes going down the drain. On the flip side, the Steelers have turned a once 0-3 season into four straight wins, and five of their last six, to be 5-4 heading into the prime time game on the shores of Lake Eerie.

These two teams, especially the Steelers without Ben Roethlisberger, are much closer than their records might indicate, and the Steelers will have a chance in the next three weeks to essentially end the Browns’ season.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, it is time to take a look at who the NFL experts like in this AFC North grudge match. It should be noted not all websites have their picks submitted, so these numbers might change slightly before kickoff.

Let’s get to the picks...

If you are a Browns fan who stumbled upon this article, you will love the expert panel here at SB Nation. The Steelers-hating expert are again betting against the Steelers with only 4 of their 10 experts thinking the Steelers can win this game on the road.

For a more pro-Steelers site look no further than the experts at CBS Sports. Their 8 person expert panel has 5 thinking the Steelers pull off the upset and move to 6-4 on the season. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports gives his own individual picks for every game, and he likes the Steelers to come away victorious on Thursday night. See what he had to say:

The Steelers have righted things, while the Browns are trying to do so. This will be a tough game for the Steelers on the road. But I think their defense will be the difference. They will get all over Baker Mayfield.

Pick: Steelers 23, Browns 16

These are just a handful of websites who register expert picks every week. What about all the other sites who do the same, but aren’t listed in this article? This is where our friends at NFL Pick Watch come in. They take all NFL expert picks and put them in an easy-to-read graph so fans can see who the experts like in this matchup. According to NFL Pick Watch, the Steelers hold a slight lead in this matchup with 56% of experts leaning the Steelers’ way.

Will the Steelers be able to win their fifth game in a row, and put a huge hit on the Browns’ playoff hopes? Or will the Browns get a huge home win and have their fans starting to think about the playoffs again? Only time will tell, but the experts are giving the slight edge to the Steelers on the road in Week 11.
