The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their inactives for their Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns. With two players previously ruled out being placed on IR hours before kickoff, the list is made up of five healthy scratches and the two players out due to injury.
#Steelers inactives for the game vs. the Browns tonight: QB Lynch, RB Snell, CB Layne, OLB Chickillo, T Okorafor, TE Gentry, DE Walton— Bob Labriola (@BobLabriola) November 14, 2019
Benny Snell Jr. was ruled out early in the week as he is still recovering from knee surgery. With extended time off due to a Thursday night game, Snell will get a chance to work back into the mix before Week 12.
The other player missing Thursday’s game due to injury is outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo. Only practicing in a limited capacity, Chickillo will get a chance to rest his ribs before taking the field again. The Steelers re-signed Jayrone Elliott prior to the game in order to add depth at the position. Joe Haden was the other Steelers’ player who was questionable coming into the game due to an illness, but he is active and will play against his former team.
As for the rest of the inactive list, third-string quarterback Paxton Lynch is inactive yet again as the Steelers are not dealing with any injuries at the quarterback position. The other players filling up inactive list are DT L.T. Walton, TE Zach Gentry, CB Justin Layne and OT Chukwuma Okorafor. After starting in Week 10 and playing 100% of the offensive snaps, Okorafor is back on the inactive list with the return of Ramon Foster.
Both newly signed players Jayrone Elliott and wide receiver Tevin Jones are active against the Browns. The Steelers also decided to go with all four running backs as Tony Brooks-James is active and may see time returning kicks.
As for the Browns inactives, they can be seen below. DE Olivier Vernon is inactive.
