ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is also dealing with a knee injury along with the head injury which knocked him out of last Thursday’s 21-7 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Smith-Schuster exited the Browns game in the second quarter after getting hit in the head as three defenders closed in. Smith-Schuster had 21 yards on two receptions prior to existing the game.

With wide receivers Ryan Switzer being placed on Injured Reserve last week and Diontae Johnson also leaving the Browns’ game with a head injury, the Steelers have added Deon Cain to the 53-man roster as well a receivers Quadree Henderson and Amara Darboh to the practice squad. Tevin Jones was called up from the practice squad prior to Thursday’s game and had two receptions for 24 yards.

It has been a down year thus far for Smith-Schuster as he has 524 yards on 38 receptions with 3 touchdowns. In 2018, Smith-Schuster had 1,426 yards on 111 receptions and 7 touchdowns. With a young receiving corps around him as well as the loss of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger early in the season, JuJu has still maintained a great attitude toward team success rather than individual numbers.

While the added knee injury is troubling for Smith-Schuster’s availability in Week 12, the additional time since Thursday could be in his favor. Head coach Mike Tomlin should address the issue in his weekly press conference on Tuesday before the first injury report is released on Wednesday.
