The Pittsburgh Steelers were losers in Week 11 when the team went to Cleveland to play the Browns on Thursday Night Football and fell flat on their faces. Most fans just want to talk about the last 8 seconds of the game when Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph got into a scuffle which turned into an assault.
But when you think back to the game, the team played one of their worst games in recent memory. Mason Rudolph threw 4 interceptions, and could have thrown more, and the defense didn’t get the key turnover when the team needed it.
It was a bad day at the office on a short week, but the question remains whether it was just one bad day, or the new norm for the Steelers? The Steelers fan base sees it as a big concern moving forward.
The latest FanPulse results certainly paint a pretty accurate photo of how fans truly feel:
When it comes to the data, the Steelers’ fan confidence jumped to an 83% approval rating after the team’s Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Rams. The 83% approval was the highest the fan base has recorded since after Week 1 in the preseason.
Unfortunately, that 83% approval was short-lived and plummeted to 38% fan approval after the loss to the Browns last Thursday. To make matters worse, the Steelers fan base has had to sit on this horrible loss for 10 days before the team plays the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12 at Paul Brown Stadium.
It isn’t a good situation, but, believe it or not, the Steelers are still very much alive in the NFL Playoff Picture. Their 5-5 record has them right on the cusp of being in the postseason, if the playoffs started today. But how they respond to Week 11 vs. a winless Bengals team will truly dictate which direction this team is headed.
Let’s hope the Steelers find a way to advance to 6-5 as they hit the road for the second time in three weeks to play the Bengals at 1:00 p.m. ET.
