Predicting the winner of Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals, Week 12

Predicting the winner of Steelers vs. Bengals in Week 12 at Paul Brown Stadium.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

On paper this Week 12 game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals seems pretty easy to pick. 5-5 vs. 0-10 should be a slam dunk, right? Well, with this Steelers’ offense nothing is guaranteed.

If you had asked fans prior to Week 11 what they thought, they would have likely said this game would be over before it even began. However, after Mason Rudolph’s 4 interception day vs. the Cleveland Browns on prime time, doubt has crept into everyone’s mind in a bad way.

Picking this game just got a lot more difficult, but before I get to my pick let’s take a look at who the other side is picking...

This week I was fortunate enough to ask Cincy Jungle’s writer Patrick Judis some questions, and of course I asked him what his prediction for the game was, and you can check out his response below:

This game will be closer than Week 4. Cincinnati’s defense will probably keep it within striking distance. The question is Finley not make the mistakes that allow the Steelers’ defense to put points on the board themselves. I think the Bengals come up just short again at home. The Steelers defense is just too good for me to expect them to not create a game changing turnover at some point.

Bengals 13 Steelers 20

I agree with Peter when it pertains to the game being close. If the Steelers blow anyone out this season I would be absolutely stunned, so this game will be close. The difference in this game will be the Steelers’ defense. If the offense can break their 16-game streak of turning the ball over, the defense should be able to feast on Ryan Finley and the Bengals’ offense.

Due to a ridiculously cautious game plan I see the Steelers’ giveaway streak ending, and the defense causing at least one turnover to win the game.

Prediction:
Steelers - 23
Bengals - 17
