The Pittsburgh Steelers had their second practice of Week 13 on Thanksgiving as they prepare to take on the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field this coming Sunday. According to the Steelers PR Department, JuJu Smith-Schuster was the only player who did not participate in practice on Thursday.
Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has now been cleared of the NFL’s concussion protocol and is solely dealing with a knee injury. Unfortunately, Smith-Schuster did not get back onto the field Thursday which hurts his availability to play this Sunday against the Browns.
James Conner is still dealing with the shoulder injury he reaggravated in Week 11, but was able to participate in a limited fashion on Thursday. As Conner allows his shoulder to continue to heal in order to avoid surgery, it is still unclear how much availability the Steelers can expect moving forward.
Cornerback Artie Burns was another player who did not play in Week 12 due to injury with a knee. Burns was limited last week and began this week by not making it on to the practice field. On Thursday, Burns progressed to being able to participate in a limited fashion.
A new player to the injury list yesterday was offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva who was limited with a shoulder injury. Villanueva was able to return as a full participant on Thursday.
The only other player on the Steelers injury report was guard Ramon Foster who had his typical Thursday off as a coaches decision.
