Steelers Injury Report: JuJu Smith-Schuster out on Sunday against the Bills

The Pittsburgh Steelers had their final practice of Week 15 as they prepare to take on the Buffalo Bills at Heniz Field this coming Sunday night. According to the Steelers PR Department, there are two players who have been ruled out with another questionable.

Both wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner returned fully to practice on Wednesday for the first time since sustaining their injuries in Week 11. On Friday, Conner continued as a full participant for the week, but is still listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. While being able to practice is key, the Steelers may be concerned one bad hit could knock Conner out long term if he returns to game action too soon.

As for JuJu Smith-Schuster, he was unable to participate in practice Friday after leaving early on Thursday. Unfortunately, even though he hoped to return, Smith-Schuster is listed as out for Sunday.

Running back Jaylen Samuels suffered a groin injury against the Cardinals on Sunday. After missing practice Wednesday, he returned the rest of the week and carries no injury designation.

Tight end Vance McDonald is in the NFL’s concussion protocol after leaving last Sunday’s game in the second half and was unable to practice on Wednesday. Returning to limited action on Thursday, he did not practice Friday and is out against the Bills.

One player who missed practice on Thursday was wide receiver Johnny Holton due to an illness. He returned Friday and carries no injury designation.
