Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin famously said, “Every team should have a Watt on it.” after the team drafted T.J. Watt out of Wisconsin in the first round. And as he has been dominant throughout the 2019 season, he has lived up to every bit of hype surrounding the Watt name.

Most recently, Watt was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month award winner for his stellar play in the month of November.

Watt has been a dominant force for the Steelers’ defense throughout the month, and his statistics as a whole, not just in November, that are bordering on franchise records.

This per Teresa Varley of Steelers.com:

T.J. Watt is on pace to break the Steelers single season sack record, currently sitting at 12.5 sacks, just three and a half shy of tying James Harrison’s record of 16 sacks set in 2008, and four away from breaking it. His 12.5 sacks have him sitting in first place in the AFC in sacks, fourth overall in the NFL, while he is tied for second in the AFC in forced fumbles with three.

Just look at the numbers Watt has put up in the last five weeks. This per Brooke Pryor of ESPN:

Watt is only in his third year as a professional, and it seems the sky is the limit for the youngest Watt brother.

Every team should have a Watt on it...but only the Steelers have T.J.
