The other day, during our flagship podcast the ‘Standard is the Standard’, myself and co-host Lance Williams were talking about the Antonio Brown situation, and how Ben Roethlisberger has been drug through the mud during this entire saga.
As we discussed why, Lance said something which required me to go back and check the tape after we had finished recording.
He spoke about how Brown’s issues with the Steelers, and Ben Roethliseberger, were nothing but a mirage. Brown saw the writing on the wall. 3 more years on his current contract, going to be 31 years old and a franchise which wasn’t going to give him a new deal anytime soon. Not after making him the highest paid receiver in the league at the time of him signing his most recent contract.
Essentially, Brown has one last chance at hitting a pay day, so he is forcing his way out. He can’t just come out and say, “I want to cash in while I still can.” So he is playing the blame game.
This is where the newest BTSC podcast “Yeah, I Said It” comes in. My co-host on ‘The Standard is the Standard’, Lance Williams, talks about how Brown has manipulated his situation, mainly with Roethlisberger to get out of Pittsburgh and to get a new deal.
Period.
Lance is the perfect man for the job, and delivers the goods in the latest show.
