There is no doubt the Pittsburgh Steelers need a cornerback. Since the downward decline of Artie Burns, the team has been scrambling to try and fill the spot opposite Joe Haden.
Cam Sutton was given a shot. Coty Sensabaugh occupied the job the majority of the season. In other words, it wasn’t pretty. When people ask whether the Steelers should target a free agent or a player in the 2019 NFL Draft at cornerback, the answer is simple.
Both.
It seems as if the Steelers are starting to dip their toes into free agency, even just a little bit, during the NFL’s tampering period leading up to the new league year on March 13th.
This from DKPittsburghSports Dale Lolley:
Steelers in the mix on CB Bradley Roby per James Palmer. But so are a bunch of other teams. #Steelers #dkps

Roby has played his entire career in Denver with the Broncos ‘No Fly Zone’ defensive backfield, and is coming off a 2018 season where he started 15 games, but was only able to register one interception with 12 pass defenses.
While Roby would be a good compliment, and arguably an upgrade over what the Steelers currently have on their roster, it always comes down to the price tag. With several teams, many like the Cleveland Browns who have massive amounts of salary cap space, also in the running for Roby you have to think they will be able to outbid a player looking for a big pay day.
