The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with plenty of their own drama, so much so it seems many have forgotten about Le’Veon Bell.
You know, the All-Pro running back who made waves by sitting out the entire 2018 season?
Yeah, that guy.
As Bell prepares for his first stint as an Unrestricted Free Agent in only days, there are certain athletes who are recruiting Bell to play for a specific franchise. Most of these athletes are fellow football players, but you can now add a baseball player to the mix of high-level recruiters.
New Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper took to Instagram to send a not-so-subtle message to Bell on where he should take his talents in 2019.
Le'Veon Bell to Philly? Bryce Harper wants to see it:

Harper tells Bell:
“Aye come join! Let’s take this city by storm. Bring as many titles as we can to the greatest city in the world. Brotherly love. #SecureTheBag”
While websites like this one, and plenty of others, will run with this story, the NFL isn’t MLB. With a salary cap, it prohibits NFL franchises from simply opening up their checkbooks and signing whomever they want for whatever they want.
There are no Manny Michado 10-year, $300 million dollar contracts in the NFL. If you paid someone that much money, you wouldn’t be able to afford a 53-man roster.
Say what you want about the two sports and their pay structures, but where Bell ends up in 2019 will certainly be worth keeping an eye on...expect a big deal for the former Michigan State running back when free agency officially gets underway.
