Compiling statistics can take hours upon hours in order to find the proper numbers. To save you the trouble, here are some of the best statistics about the Steelers from the past week.
I will begin with a few statistics of my own before going on to other various Steeler sources. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @STLRSuperFanDad in order to get some of BTSC’s geekiest stats.
From The Steelers Preview podcast:
The Steelers have had five kickers reach the Pro Bowl with a total of nine selections:
Chris Boswell: 2017
Gary Anderson: 1983, 1985, and 1993
Roy Gerela: 1972 and 1974
Mike Clark: 1966
Lou Michaels: 1962 and 1963
The longest field goal in Pittsburgh Steelers history is 55 yards by Gary Anderson in 1984 and Kris Brown in 2001.
The longest field goal attempted by a Pittsburgh Steeler was 65 yards by Jeff Reed in 2007 in Denver. It was not made.
Now onto some other crazy Steelers stats:
Since 1960, the #Steelers have only made 8 FG’s of 53 yards or more, the fewest in the NFL. The next fewest is the Browns with 11.
