Early quotes from Ben Roethlisberger on Antonio Brown have him being apologetic

It has been a long time since Ben Roethlisberger spoke publicly, and in some early quotes from an interview set to air tonight Roethlisberger is apologetic for his comments towards Antonio Brown.

It has been a while since Pittsburgh Steelers’ franchise quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has spoken to the media. In fact, it has been since the team’s victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 when Roethlisberger spoke after the season had officially ended.

A lot has happened since then, but throughout Antonio Brown and then Le’Veon Bell trashing Roethlisberger’s name and character upon leaving — Roethlisberger has remained silent.

No official statement, no interviews...nothing.

Until now.

Roethlisberger and KDKA’s longtime sports anchor Bob Pompeani concluded a sit-down interview a few days ago which will air on KDKA Monday evening at both 6 and 11 p.m. ET.

However, a few quotes surfaced from the interview via 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi. The quotes he provides show Roethlisberger being very apologetic, and sorry, for his comments towards Antonio Brown last season.

See the quotes below:

Roethlisberger took the high road, which should be expected, even though some fans were hoping he would bash Brown the way Brown bashed him. At the same time, this is only a small portion of the interview. Roethlisberger likely goes on to talk more about the situation, the offseason, his contract and more.

The airing of this interview is extremely well timed considering the team has their first workout of Phase 3 of Organized Team Activities (OTAs) Tuesday. By having this air the day before the first workout, where Roethlisberger will meet with the media, he can say he won’t want to talk about this fiasco anymore. Instead, he will be able to say he just wants to focus on the future rather than letting this story smolder.

Either way, fans who wanted to see Roethlisberger finally speak — tonight is your night.
