With the Steelers nearing their return to training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, I have been doing some of these “Pick Your Poison” articles to drive some discussion, and keep people’s attention during the dog days of summer.
In the latest edition of “Pick Your Poison”, I am asking a very difficult question for Steelers fans everywhere.
Which Super Bowl team was better? The Super Bowl 40 team? Or the Super Bowl 43 team?
Notice the key word here is the team, not the game. Clearly, Super Bowl 43 was by far the more superior game, but which team do you think was better?
Think about some of the differences between these two teams:
- Bill Cowher coached Super Bowl 40, Mike Tomlin Super Bowl 43
- Jerome Bettis was in his swan song in Super Bowl 40.
- The Super Bowl 40 road to the ‘one for the thumb’ was unprecedented in the history of the NFL.
- Super Bowl 43 saw the team overcome the most difficult schedule to win it all in dramatic fashion.
I could go on, but I don’t need to remind fans of the teams who brought home the last two Lombardi Trophies to the Steelers organization. So, what say you? Which team was your favorite? Vote in the poll below, and be sure to explain yourself in the comment section below this article!
