The Pittsburgh Steelers will win the Super Bowl in 2019

The Pittsburgh Steelers are approaching training camp, and we provide some potential predictions for 2019.

Super Bowl XLV - Pittsburgh Steelers v Green Bay Packers

In case you didn’t know, the Pittsburgh Steelers will return to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA in exactly 1 day of this article being published. With that, I decided to revive an old series we used to do as a lead up to training camp.

30 predictions in 30 days.

Myself and Simon Chester are alternating days giving a prediction for the upcoming season. Some will be team oriented, while others will be specific to individual players. Either way, read on to see the reason why we think today’s prediction will come to fruition, and why it might not come true. Give your thoughts in the comment section below the article.

Training camp is almost here! Here We Go!

Prediction: The Steelers’ will win the Super Bowl in 2019.

Why it will happen: Could the Steelers win the Super Bowl? You bet they could win the Super Bowl. They have an improving defense, and should be a very well-rounded offense with the strength of the group still being No. 7, Ben Roethlisberger. If Roethlisberger and the offensive line remain healthy, there is no doubt this offense will be able to put up points.

Forget about Antonio Brown, he’s gone.

Forget about Le’Veon Bell, he’s gone.

Focus instead of JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, Jaylen Samuels and Vance McDonald.

Defensively, the missing piece of their puzzle has been inside linebacker since Ryan Shazier was hurt in December of 2017. The team has the front three to get the job done, a secondary with some new pieces in it this year, but many are pointing to players like Bud Dupree and Artie Burns as a reason for impending doom

Forget about that.

Focus on Terrell Edmunds in his second year. Focus on T.J. Watt continuing to improve in year three. Focus on Sean Davis getting to play a second year with Edmunds in the back end. Focus on the promise of young players like Devin Bush and Ola Adeniyi combined with the likes of Vince Williams and Mark Barron.

This team is a tough nut to crack, but they could do some serious damage this season thanks to No. 7 being healthy, and a defense that finally puts a secondary along with their ridiculous pass rush.

Yes, this team can win the Super Bowl...whether you believe it or not.

Why it won’t happen: The Pittsburgh Steelers are suddenly a young team, with veterans sprinkled in and around the 53-man roster. Ben Roethlisberger is the only player on the current roster who has the experience of winning a Super Bowl.

Oh yeah, they lost some serious offensive production with Antonio Brown being traded to the Raiders this offseason. Steven Nelson, Mark Barron and Donte Moncrief might look good on paper, but will they be the answer? I have my doubts.

Will Mike Tomlin be able to not just reclaim his locker room, but get the taste of their mediocre 2018 season out of his mouth in 2019? There hasn’t been much seen to make me think this team could actually win a Super Bowl under these conditions.

Will they be competitive? Absolutely, but are they are a Super Bowl contender? That is a bit far fetched for me...
