It may not be football that counts, but exhibition football is coming to a close for 2019. The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to conclude their 2019 preseason on Thursday night when Ron Rivera, Christian McCaffrey, and the rest of the Carolina Panthers host the Steelers at Bank of America Stadium in Week 4.

This will be the last chance for Steelers fans to see their team before the regular season starts on Septemeber 8th in Foxborough against the New England Patriots. Although most starters are not expected to play, those Steelers in uniform will be playing hard to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Ben Roethlisberger has been the only player directly mentioned as ruled out for the game since coach Tomlin stated he would not suit up. According to Mason Rudolph, Joshua Dobbs will start the game with Rudolph relieving him of duty sometime during the first half. Rookie Devlin Hodges is believed to play the majority of the second half. Players who are projected to start during the regular will be very scarce on the field, but most rookies should at least get some playing time. Will Devin Bush get a chance to showcase his skills? Will rookie sensations Tuzar Skipper and Uylsees Gilbert III continue to impress with another strong showing? Will Benny Snell Jr. and Diontae Johnson get back on the field? Will anybody earn a roster spot based on their performance who may have been on the outside looking in?

All of these questions will be answered throughout the rest of the team’s preseason. Get all the information you need so you can enjoy the Week 4 showdown below:
