The Pittsburgh Steelers were demolished in front of the world when the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots beat them 33-3 in front of a nationally televised audience in Week 1.
That loss stung, and more than most would know. It was just one game, and it was only Week 1, but that doesn’t matter to Steelers fans. The only fact which matters to the fans who call themselves Steelers Nation is the fact Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and company embarrassed their favorite team, again, on a national stage.
If you are curious how sick and tired the fan base is of losing to the Patriots in an embarrassing fashion, the latest FanPulse results certainly paint a pretty accurate photo of how they truly feel:

Heading into Week 1 84% of the fans who fill out the weekly FanPulse survey were confident in the direction of the team. Fast forward to the lead up to the Seattle Seahawks coming to Heinz Field in Week 2, and only 21% of the fans felt confident in the direction of the team.
So, the fact they played the defending champs on their turf as they dropped their sixth Super Bowl banner didn’t matter. The fact the team has yet to even play a home game this season doesn’t matter. The fact the Steelers could very well rebound and not just win this Sunday, but actually be competitive in the AFC and make the playoffs, doesn’t matter.
No, Steelers fans are an angry mob thirsty for blood. The knee jerk reactions are still ongoing from last week, even though the team has moved on to their next opponent. Will a win boost the fans’ confidence? Only time will tell, but if the Steelers suffer a second-straight loss, someone might want to guard the bridges in Pittsburgh for fans ready to hurl themselves into one of the three rivers.
Buckle up fans, this game Sunday will be a big one!
