After Friday’s practice, it seems the only player who will definitely miss Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks is FB Roosevelt Nix who has been ruled out. After being full participants on Friday, Joe Haden and Maurkice Pouncey are listed as questionable according to the Steelers PR Department.

With 10 players initially listed on the injury report Wednesday, it seemed the Steelers would have to piece together various parts of their team in order to accommodate those players who were banged up. But with all the injured players other than Nix, Pouncey and Haden returning to the Field Thursday, the outlook seemed much brighter. Players such as Sean Davis, T.J. Watt, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Terrell Edmunds all returned for two full days of practice and do not even carry an injury designation. With even better news on Friday, ESPN’s Brooke prior reports both Haden and Pouncey are expecting to play on Sunday.
After talking with guys in the Steelers locker rooms, sounds like the team is pretty healthy going into Sunday’s home opener.

Joe Haden (shoulder) and Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) both said they were full participants in practice today.
While not technically a starter on offense, Nix is the Steelers’ special teams captain and will be greatly missed in those situations. Additionally, he is the only fullback on the roster. Although the Steelers did not use a fullback for even one play this past week against the New England Patriots, it is unclear if they will designate another player to fill-in at the position in the event they decide to use a particular offensive formation where a fullback is needed.
The return of Sean Davis for Week 2 is a welcomed addition to the Steelers’ secondary. Davis had only missed a handful of defensive snaps in 2018 before sitting out in Week 17 with an injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. In his absence Week 1 of this season, Kam Kelly filled in with a less-than-stellar NFL debut.
As for the Seahawks’ status report, DE Ziggy Ansah is questionable and will be a game-time decision according to Seahawks.com.
