To start the second half the Seahawks started with the football, and were unable to add to their point total. Ben Roethlisberger was out of the game due to an injury to the elbow on his throwing arm, and Mason Rudolph took over. On 3rd and 10 Rudolph threw a nice pass to Donte Moncrief, but the ball went through his hands and was intercepted by the Seattle defense.
Russell Wilson wasted little time putting more points on the board. After a pass to get them into the red-zone, Wilson hit Dissly for his second touchdown of the game, and to make the score 14-10 midway through the 3rd quarter.
Mason Rudolph returned to the field to hopefully spark the Pittsburgh offense, and his first NFL completion came via flea flicker when he hit Smith-Schuster for 46 yards to set up the Steelers in field goal range. However, the team had to settle for another Boswell field goal, making the score 14-13.
The Seahawks’ offense was just getting warmed up as they were well-timed and balanced in their attack as they drove the ball down the field. Pittsburgh’s defense had their issues tackling, and it was a missed tackle by Anthony Chickillo that eventually sprung running back Rashaad Penny for the rushing touchdown.
The Steelers have the ball around midfield to end the third quarter.
