When the new-look Steelers take the field on Sunday in San Francisco against the 49ers, some of the differences could be due to injury. With Ben Roethlisberger and Sean Davis both put on IR this week, quarterback Mason Rudolph and new safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will be two Steelers to watch this Sunday. In the first injury report of Week 3 courtesy of the Steelers PR department, six Steelers have made the list.

As coach Mike Tomlin mentioned in his press conference on Tuesday, Roosevelt Nix did not participate in practice on Wednesday and is not expected to be available for Week 3. Joe Haden did not experience an injury in-game on Sunday, but the Steelers are continuing to bring him along slowly with his injured shoulder. Last week Haden did not practice until Friday and played every snap defense against the Seahawks.

Another player not practicing on Wednesday but feels he will be ready to play in Week 3 is James Conner, who left Sunday’s game with a knee injury.

Other players sitting up practice were Vince Williams with a hamstring and Anthony Chickillo with a foot injury. Both players did not finish the game on Sunday against the Seahawks and their status for this week is unknown. Vance McDonald was an unexpected player on the list as he was limited in practice with a back injury

Since their opponent plays in the Pacific Time Zone, the Steelers are not required to release their injury report until both teams are ready. For this reason, Steelers’ fans are left waiting late into the evening to see who was able to practice for both teams.

As for the 49ers’ injury report, eight players are on the report with six not practicing Wednesday according to the 49ers official twitter account.
