NFL players make a lot of money, everyone knows this, but what fans often forget is how many of these players can lose a large chunk of their paycheck for misconduct both on and off the field.
This was the case for Pittsburgh Steelers OLB Bud Dupree as he was fined $21,056 for a late hit to the head of Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson during their Week 2 contest at Heinz Field.
This per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:
Fine: #Steelers LB Bud Dupree was fined $21,056 for a hit on a quarterback, his uncalled shot to #Seahawks QB Russell Wilson’s head. Dupree apologized after the hit.

Here is video of the hit:
This should be at least a foul and potentially an ejection.

Dupree is no stranger to fines, and late hits, as he famously hit Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore in the AFC Wild Card game during the 2016-2017 season.
In case you forgot what that play looked like:

Dupree has a lot to play for this year as he is in the 5th year of his rookie contract, and set to become a free agent after the season ends. Dupree has yet to even touch 7 sacks in a season during his tenure with the Steelers, and after two games has registered just one sack.
Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black-and-gold as they prepare for the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, CA on Sunday in Week 3.
