The Pittsburgh Steelers made a statement with their inactive list against the San Francisco 49ers as Donte Moncrief is a healthy scratch on Sunday.

Having Moncrief inactive is quite a surprising move as the Steelers already had three players ruled out due to injury. Roosevelt Nix, Vince Williams, and Anthony Chickillo were three inactives already announced on Friday. With so many players injured and not enough players at their positions to fill in their spots, there was really no need to sit a wide receiver. Instead, the Steelers chose to dress both TE Zach Gentry and CB Justin Layne.

Joining these four players on the inactive list are several of the usual suspects. Not getting a helmet for Week 3 are rookies DL Isaiah Buggs, and G Fred Johnson. Second-year OT Chukwuma Okorafor once again is on the inactive list.

Active for the first in 2019 is OLB Jayrone Elliott. Leading the AAF is sacks this past spring, Elliott previously spent three years in Green Bay from 2014-2016 before being traded to the Cowboys and then released in 20017.

As for the 49ers, their inactives can be seen below. Although questionable for the game, both DE Dee Ford and DE Nick Bosa are active.
