The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4 on Monday Night Football, and during Mike Tomlin’s weekly press conference, on Wednesday instead of Tuesday due to the extra day to prepare, talked about some of the injuries the team is facing heading into next week.

There was some good news, and some bad news on the injury front. To get the bad news out of the way, fullback Roosevelt Nix continues to rehab his knee and has already been ruled out for the upcoming prime time game.

Other than that, the Steelers are going to be taking a wait-and-see approach to the other walking wounded, and their availability for the first AFC North contest of the season. The players who are all banged up and could be listed as ‘Questionable’ are:

Vance McDonald (shoulder)
Anthony Chickillo (foot)
Vince Williams (hamstring)
Xavier Grimble (unknown)

As always, each players ability, or inability, to practice will be the best gauge for their availability for the upcoming week.

For players like Joe Haden, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, he was praised for playing through the injury, but could be limited in the early portions of the week. Without any setbacks it seems as if Haden might be taking Wednesdays off, then practicing Thursday and Friday in some capacity before suiting up on Monday night.

Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the Bengals in Week 4, a game many consider a must-win for both of these 0-3 AFC North team.
