The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals are both 0-3, and they will go head-to-head in prime time on Monday Night Football in Week 4. Yeah, not what the schedule makers were hoping for when they put these two AFC North rivals in a prime time slot.
With both teams looking for their first win, you have to assume one game will break into the win column, while the other will plummet to depths of the 0-4 teams, which essentially means your season is over before even hitting the second quarter pole of the regular season.
With that said, it is this time when I take a look at the NFL expert picks for the week, and whether they are liking the Steelers, or in this case the Bengals, in the upcoming matchup.
Let’s get to the picks...
For Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, he was disappointed to even have to pick this game, but still did make a prediction. Here is what he said:
What a dog of a game we have on Monday night. Both teams are 0-3 and the Steelers are starting Mason Rudolph at quarterback for Ben Roethlisberger. Somebody has to win, right? I’ll go with the home team and Rudolph gets his first NFL victory as a starter.
Pick: Steelers 27, Bengals 20
There were other sites who made picks, and most of them were at least pro-Steelers in their selections.
The fine folks here at SB Nation might be the most pro-Bengals site with 3 of their 8 experts seeing the Bengals getting their first win on the road in Week 4.
At ESPN, who bolsters the largest expert panel, they are very pro-Pittsburgh with only two of their 10 experts picking the Bengals to pull off the upset.
These aren’t the only experts who make picks weekly, in fact there are a myriad of websites who submit weekly picks. What about all those sites? This is where our friends at NFL Pick Watch comes in. They take all the expert picks across the internet and put them into one easy-to-read chart. According to NFL Pick Watch, 79% of the NFL experts are leaning towards the Steelers in Week 4 to get their first win of the season.
Will these expert picks come to fruition? Only time will tell, but it is clear the experts like the Steelers and Mason Rudolph to get their first win of the 2019 regular season on Monday Night Football.
