Football fans are rooting for a Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl

When it comes to Championship Sunday, everyone has their rooting interest. However, data shows fans are really pulling for a Chiefs vs. 49ers Super Bowl.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, like 28 other NFL franchises, are at home watching the AFC and NFC Championship games this Sunday. With the majority of fan bases moving on to the offseason, there will still be a large contingent of football fans watching the games on Championship Sunday to see who will represent the AFC and NFC in the Super Bowl.

Who will win between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans? Well, when SB Nation asked the fans who they think will blow it in the championship game, they saw the Titans’ magical run coming to an end.

What about the NFC game between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers? NFL fans believe it will be Aaron Rodgers and the Packers who will be choking away their chance at reaching the Super Bowl for the first time since Super Bowl 45.

But this isn’t really who fans are rooting for. Of the four remaining teams, who are football fans pulling for to reach the Super Bowl, and win the whole thing? As it turns out it is the lovable losers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and their lovable loser coach Andy Reid.

For Steelers fans, with the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens getting eliminated in the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds respectively, they really don’t have a team who they are rooting hard for, or against. Some fans might suggest they will root against the 49ers to prevent them from joining the Steelers and Patriots with six Super Bowl title, but for the most part fans are able to watch football without much of a rooting interest.

That doesn’t mean fans aren’t going to watch, and Steelers fans won’t have reasons for rooting for, or against, any particular team. So, with that said, who are you rooting for on Championship Sunday? Let us know in the comment section below, and be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black-and-gold as they embark on yet another long offseason.
