The Pittsburgh Steelers have an experienced punter on their roster in Jordan Berry, but don’t let that experience fool you in regards to the team moving forward at the punter position. Berry is still under contract, but according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Steelers brought in former Tennessee Titans punter Ryan Santoso for a workout Tuesday.

Santoso, who went undrafted in 2018 spent time with the Detroit Lions, in the CFL and lately with the Titans. He played his college football at the University of Minnesota, but what makes Santoso so unique is his experience as a place kicker and punter.
At this time, the Steelers are most likely looking for someone to not just compete with Berry, but to show the consistency the team has lacked at the position for years. Berry started out the year turning heads, in a good way, but as the year progressed, and the weather got colder, Berry’s overall game started to become erratic.
Is Santoso the answer? There is no way of knowing that right now, but if he gets an offseason reserve/futures contract, he will have every opportunity to prove himself and earn a spot on the Steelers’ roster.
