The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their inactives for their Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans. With two players ruled out due to injury, and the Steelers elevating running back Trey Edmunds and linebacker Jayrone Elliott off of the practice squad giving them 55 players on the roster, the list is made up of 7 players, 5 of which are healthy scratches.

What’s intriguing about the Steelers inactive list is it does not include any linebackers. With Steelers having nine players available between inside and outside linebacker, they have all players active against the Titans. Whether it’s for special-teams reasons or if the Steelers are still trying to figure out the best recipe for replacing Devin Bush, the Steelers have a lot of options.

The two players who were already known on Friday to be inactive for Week 7 are cornerback Mike Hilton and fullback Derek Watt. Hilton left the Steelers Week 6 victory with a shoulder injury and was unable to practice at all this past week. Derek Watt is missing his second game of the season after re-injuring his hamstring which kept him out of the Steelers Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Three players who have been on list every week in 2020 are Josh Dobbs, Carlos Davis, and Zach Gentry. For obvious reasons, Dobbs should be inactive each week with a healthy quarterback room. For Davis, the chance of him getting a helmet anytime soon took a hit this week when the Steelers added another defensive lineman to the 53-man roster. In the case of Zach Gentry, it seems the Steelers are content with only two tight ends for the time being.

Another player who returned back to the inactive list is offensive lineman Derwin Gray. With all other offensive lineman healthy, Gray is once again the odd man out on the Steelers roster.

The final player on the inactive list for the Steelers is defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs which is quite a surprise. Active for every game so far in 2020, Buggs has seen less action on the defensive line after the first two weeks of the season where he had over 20% of the defensive snaps against the Giants and Broncos. Instead, the Steelers are going with newly promoted Henry Mondeaux who was signed it to the 53-man roster off the Steelers practice squad on Friday.

As for the Titans’ inactives, they can be seen below. Most notably is Titans first-round pick offense of tackle Isaiah Wilson who returned from the COVID-19 list this week but is still inactive. Additionally, Titans cornerback Adoree’ Jackson did not return from IR as some anticipated.
