The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their inactives for their Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens. With two players ruled out due to injury since Chris Wormley was placed on Injured Reserve on Saturday, and the Steelers elevating linebacker Jayrone Elliott and safety Antoine Brooks Jr. off of the practice squad giving them 55 players on the roster, the list is made up of 7 players with 3 being due to injury and 4 as healthy scratches.
Inactives for the #Steelers today in Baltimore: QB Dobbs, CB Hilton, 37 Dangerfield, 54 Gilbert, 73 DL Davis, 77 OL Gray, TE Gentry— Bob Labriola (@BobLabriola) November 1, 2020
The two players who were already known on Friday to be inactive for Week 8 are safety and special teams captain Jordan Dangerfield and linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III. The Steelers also had tow players who were questionable for the game in fullback Derek Watt and cornerback Mike Hilton. Derek Watt is back after missing his second game with a hamstring which also kept him out last week as well as the Steelers Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. As for Mike Hilton, he is inactive or the Steelers for the second straight week with his shoulder injury.
Three players who have been on list every week in 2020 are Josh Dobbs, Carlos Davis, and Zach Gentry. For obvious reasons, Dobbs should be inactive each week with a healthy quarterback room. For Davis, the chance of him getting a helmet anytime soon took a hit last week when the Steelers added another defensive lineman to the 53-man roster. So even though Chris Wormley went on the IR, there are still five defensive linemen ahead of Davis on the depth chart. In the case of Zach Gentry, it seems the Steelers are content with only two tight ends in 2020.
Another player who has been on and off the inactive list is offensive lineman Derwin Gray. With all other offensive lineman healthy, Gray is once again the odd man out on the Steelers roster.
As for the Ravens’ inactives, they can be seen below. Running back Mark Ingram is inactive as expected, but cornerback Jimmy Smith and defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. are active after being questionable on Friday.
