Hello Steeler Nation and good Saturday afternoon! Welcome to Week 12 of the college football season. Let’s be honest here, right now the Pittsburgh Steelers are UNDEFEATED and take a 9-0 record into the unfriendly confines of Jacksonville, so nobody is worried about the stinking NFL Draft. Even a self proclaimed draft-a-holic like me is finding it difficult to come up with something other than GO STEELERS in these articles, but it is Saturday and there is football, so let’s do this.
Week 12 offers up a surprising Top 10 matchup between two Big Ten schools, a known powerhouse in Ohio State currently ranked No. 3 and a school that in my years was known more for it’s basketball than football. The Indiana Hoosiers are currently ranked No. 9 in the nation and look to remain undefeated. The task at hand isn’t going to be an easy one, Ohio State is led by Heisman hopeful Justin Fields and in my humble opinion, the front runner.
Instead, I wanted to look at two Interior Offensive Lineman for the Buckeyes. The first is Wyatt Davis, No. 52. All I can say is this guy is about business. He is a mover of people and can play in space. The second player is Josh Myers, No. 71, who plays in the middle of the Buckeye line. We all know Maurkice Pouncey is playing until Ben Roethlisberger retires, but the question on that front is, since the Steelers moved on from Stefen Wisniewski, does that mean that J.C. Hassenhauer is the front runner to take over for the possible Hall of Famer?
Looking at the defensive side of the ball for Ohio State is an interesting cornerback. In 2019, Shaun Wade was one of the best, if not the best, slot corners in college football. A move to the outside in 2020 has left mixed reviews. I’ll be watching the young man on Saturday. Money’s tight, times are hard and the Steelers may lose Mike Hilton. Like I said before I’ll put Wade in the slot any day, all day.
I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t mention a player from Indiana. His name is Ty Fryfogle, No. 3 Wide Receiver, we are always looking for under the radar receivers. He is a fun watch and could matchup against Wade on occasion.
Once again, not trying to run anyone out of town and the Steelers are still undefeated, but the future of the Steelers is also playing and the future has its importance.

No. 14 Oklahoma State at No. 18 Oklahoma — 7:30pm on ABC
No. 10 Wisconsin at No. 19 Northwestern — 3:30pm ABC
Appalachian State at No.15 Coastal Carolina — Noon on ESPN2
That’s right, the Chanticleers, unfortunately they play at the same time as OSU/IND but it will be recorded. Coastal Carolina has a rush backer that is fun to watch. Tarron Jackson No. 9, has good hand work but doesn’t meet the desired height and length many want at that position. One name, James Harrison, was once an undersized demon.
