NFL announces schedule change for Steelers vs. Washington Football Team in Week 13

With the Steelers set to face the Ravens on Wednesday, the game against the Washington Football Team in Week 13 has also been postponed.

Tennessee Titans v Pittsburgh Steelers

Is it possible for the Pittsburgh Steelers to be put through any more of a roller coaster than they have over the last week? Apparently issues involving the Baltimore Ravens and their COVID-19 outbreak will affect the Steelers and their game preparation over the next several weeks. As reported earlier, the Steelers game against the Baltimore Ravens has officially been moved to Wednesday night. In doing so, the NFL has also announced that the Steelers Week 13 game against the Washington Football Team will be played on Monday, December 7.

This per Adam Schefter of ESPN, and other sources as well:

Although news emerged on Monday that the Baltimore Ravens were given clearance to travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers Tuesday night at Heinz Field, the Ravens attempted, successfully, to strong-arm the NFL once again as commissioner Goodell folded to their ploys. Threatening to not play the game Tuesday due to “player safety,” the Ravens managed to get yet another postponement, this time for an additional 24 hours.

By moving the game between the Steelers and Ravens by almost a week, the Steelers are put in a tough situation as they continue on in the 2020 season. The NFL has moved their Week 13 matchup against the Washington Football Team to Monday to give the team yet another day of preparation. Yet by continuing to push games back, the Steelers will not play a game with a normal week of preparation for at least three more contests.

Unfortunately, this was the kind of finagling of the schedule was something players knew may happen when they signed up to play in 2020. What is frustrating to both the Steelers organization and its fan base is how much they have been affected by situations in which they were the innocent bystanders of other team’s negligence.

Stay tuned to BTSC for continued coverage as the Steelers are now scheduled to play three games in 12 days.

UPDATE:

It is now being reported the Steelers vs. Washington game will be played at 5:00 p.m. ET Monday. This per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network:
