I’ve been waiting all day for....Wednesday afternoon??
I don’t think NBC will have an alternate sound clip for Carrie Underwood to sing when the promo runs for the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens game in Week 12 will play. Why? Because the NFL has decided to not only bump the game a third time to Wednesday, but to have the start time of 3:40 p.m. ET.
This per Adam Schefter of ESPN:
Ravens-Steelers is now scheduled to kick off at 3:40 pm Wednesday, per source.

So, let’s recap where this game has been scheduled so far in this crazy 2020 season:
Week 12: Thanksgiving night, Thursday Night Football — 8:20 p.m. ET
Week 12: Sunday — 1:15 p.m. ET
Week 12: Tuesday — 8:00 p.m ET
Week 12: Wednesday — 3:40 p.m. ET
I’m sure there is a logical explanation for the game being played at such a strange time, well, we now know the reason why the game is at such a strange time. And no, fans won’t be happy about it. The reason? Because NBC is making sure they show the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting at 8 p.m. ET.
I’m not joking. This per Adam Schefter of ESPN:
Another ultimate 2020 note: the Ravens-Steelers game is kicking off Wednesday at 3:40 pm because NBC wanted and was committed to broadcasting the 88th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Wednesday night, per sources. Tree lighting trumped football.

Fans on the west coast are accustomed to strange start time and having their every day lives have football being a part of it. Those on the east coast are not used to possibly have to get home from work early, or take off work altogether, to see the Steelers play in the middle of the week.
Then again, no decision the NFL ever makes has the fans’ best interest in mind.
A lot can change, as we have seen since the Ravens’ COVID-19 outbreak began almost a week ago, so be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black and gold as they press on through the 2020 regular season.
