The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens have been dealing with COVID-19, and issues surrounding it, for the last week. During this time the Ravens have had an outbreak to deal with, and the Steelers have had their own concerns surrounding the Reserve/COVID-19 List.
The Steelers put the following players on the list in the last week:
OT Jerald Hawkins
DE Stephon Tuitt
DE Isaiah Buggs
RB James Conner
They also had two coaches who were told would not be able to coach in Week 12 due to concerns about the virus. Those were:
QB Coach Matt Canada
Special Teams Coordinator Danny Smith
While the Steelers got Isaiah Buggs and Kevin Dotson, who has been on the COVID-19/Reserve List for well over a week, back vs. the Ravens, it was announced Tuesday they will also get Coach Canada back on the sideline as well.
This per Burt Lauten, spokesman of the Steelers:
#Steelers QBs Coach Matt Canada (illness) has been cleared to return to the building. He will coach tomorrow afternoon vs. the #Ravens.

Some might scoff at the importance of having Canada on the sideline, but the fact remains Canada’s fingerprints are all over the Steelers’ offense. How much say does he have in the overall scheme and game plan? We may never know, but having him on the sideline and working with Ben Roethlisberger can only help, not hurt, the team as they try to move their record to 11-0 to start the 2020 regular season.
Be sure to stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes surrounding the black and gold as they prepare for the Baltimore Ravens, at some point, in Week 12 at Heinz Field.
