The Behind The Steel Curtain survivor pool continued on in Week 12 as the choices get even tougher as over a third of the teams have been used up. With just over 20 contestants remaining, one upset could take out a large percentage of people remaining. Week 12 was not that week While technically there were 355 total entries, I had one entry in each league as the commissioner so there were 352 different contestants. Hundreds have entered, but only one can go home with the autographed Maurkice Pouncey football.
As we all know, the Steelers and Ravens have yet to play in Week 12. Since nobody made a pick in regards to this game, we are closing out our the week and moving on to Week 13.
The most common selection for Week 12 was the Cleveland Browns over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although the Jaguars were a 2-point conversion away from overtime, the Browns held on and sent 11 of the 21 contestants on to Week 13. I still can’t figure out why the Jags went for 2 with more than 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and had them chasing a point the rest of the way.
The next most popular pick was the New York Giants over the Cincinnati Bengals. In a back-and-forth game, the Giants managed 3 field goals in the second half to one Bengals’ touchdown for a 2-point win and for six more contestants to move through.
There were only five different games chosen this week with all of them being correct. The other choices were New Orleans, Miami, and Seattle.
So after twelve weeks, only 5.9% of entries still remain. Congratulations to the 21 contestants still remaining, but 20 of you will still have to be eliminated. If you are still alive, make sure you enter your pick early so you don’t get knocked out due to a lack of selection. This is your reminder, so go make your pick now!
