The Steelers are coming off of their initial loss in 2020 and, though it’s odd for an 11-1 team to be looking for redemption, Pittsburgh finds themselves in that very position. The staff at BTSC put in their two cents on how they think the contest will shake out when the Steelers travel to Buffalo in Week 14. Who will it be with bragging rights this week?

This game falls on the Steelers offense being able to catch the ball and develop some sort of a running game. Without either and the Bills might blow the Steelers out of the water. This is a huge game for Avery Williamson who will make his first Steelers start and will wear the green dot communication helmet. Stopping Josh Allen would be the finest accomplishment for the Steelers defense this year, which is either said then done. The Steelers need to convince me they can win again.

Joe Haden. Bud Dupree. Robert Spillane. Vince Williams. Devin Bush. The Steelers are down their top three inside linebackers, the cornerback who does the most to help the linebackers in coverage and one of the Steeler edge defenders that the Steelers would move into coverage to help bolster their inside linebackers.
It’s too much to overcome. The offense starts to find itself again, but the defense has a gaping hole in coverage against a team that has the talent to really exploit it. If the Steelers pull out a win, it will be an incredible achievement.

The Steelers are facing a tough opponent in the form of the 9-3 Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park, New York on Sunday Night Football inn America. After starting 11-1, those that claim to be in and everybody else out-of-the-know are thinking that the Steelers are suddenly pretenders rather than contenders. This is a Tomlin/Roethlisberger underdog special. It will be a grind, but the Steelers will show plenty of testicular fortitude and beat a favorite on the road if they get back to basics and play the brand of football that they’ve exhibited most of 2020.

The Steelers are coming off their first loss of the season. That’s not a big deal, especially when it happens in December. What is a big deal is the way Pittsburgh has been playing in recent weeks. Also, there’s the matter of the loss of personnel due to either COVID or injuries. With that in mind, I look for a close game, but I look for the Steelers to drop their second-straight.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team trending in the wrong direction at the moment, but those trends can change at the drop of a hat. It only takes one big win over a quality opponent to completely alter the way the fans, and the players themselves, feel about their chances moving forward. The Steelers have exactly this scenario in front of them on Sunday Night Football in Week 14 as they play the Buffalo Bills on the road. It won’t be easy, but this team is 11-1 for a reason. I think they bounce back after their Week 13 loss.

The Steelers are coming off their first loss of the season, and the offense has not looked good for several weeks. Some injuries and COVID issues on defense will also have to be overcome. I initially picked the Bills by a couple of points on The Scho Bro Show, but told Dave I reserved the right to change for this article depending on changes to who was playing for the Steelers. Pouncey, Nelson, Boswell and Conner return, but Vince Williams is out. I still think this game is close, but the Steelers got enough important players back to win it on a late Boswell field goal.

On Thursday night’s Steelers Preview podcast I picked the Bills 27-24 but reserved the right to change my pick based on the availability of certain players, particularly Maurkice Pouncey. Just from a leadership standpoint I have Pouncey making a two field goal difference and ultimately giving the Steelers the victory. I know it’s crazy, but somebody has to motivate the offense to perform better and now Roethlisberger will have his right-hand man back.

If the Steelers can overcome their injury situation on defense, their identity problem on offense and the fact they haven’t been on a normal practice schedule in three weeks to win in Buffalo against a red-hot Bills squad, they should hand Mike Tomlin the Coach of the Year trophy as he leaves the field. It feels like too much. I think the Steelers stumble here before getting back on track next week.

The Steelers have had two disappointing performances in a row on offense, coinciding with multiple unexpected scheduling changes that has disrupted cohesiveness by limiting their opportunities to practice. Early season momentum has disappeared and a severe case of the dropsies have infected the receiving core. This week the Steelers had their most normal week of practice in quite some time. Hopefully that fact will pay dividends on the field this week. The Steelers are shorthanded going into the game against a playoff bound Buffalo Bills team, but the Steelers should be extremely motivated for this primetime clash of contenders.
