The Steelers are finally back to a regular week of practice, and even have a bonus day due to playing on Monday night. In the first injury report for the Steelers for Week 15 courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, the Steelers had 2 players out due to injury, 1 due to illness, and 1 miss due to a coach’s decision.
First, on a positive note, Joe Haden participated in practice again as he is working his way out of the NFL’s concussion protocol. It was reported on Wednesday Haden was able to practice, but there was no injury report required. With Haden practicing fully, there is a lot of hope he will return to the Steelers’ lineup on Monday.
Rookie guard Kevin Dotson was unable to practice with a shoulder injury which caused him to miss most of the second half of Sunday night’s game against the Bills. With Matt Feiler going on the Reserve/Injured List due to a pectoral injury, Dotson would be in line to start at left guard should he be able. Head coach Mike Tomlin said in his press conference on Tuesday that Dotson could miss time early in the week but may still be available Monday depending on how the week progresses.
Running back James Conner also missed Thursday’s practice with a quadricep injury. The extent of the injury is unknown at this time and Conner’s ability to return to practice this week will be the determining factor in his status for Monday night.
While there was a chance safety Terrell Edmunds could have landed on the injury report, it was actually safety Sean Davis who missed practice due to illness as Edmunds was not listed.
Also included on the report was Ben Roethlisberger who was given the day off not due to injury.
