Glad to be back at the wheel, so to speak. I want to give a big thanks to Andrew Wilbur (steelerfan11) for stepping in for me for a few of weeks.
Before we get started I want to bring up something that is draft related as well as Behind The Steel Curtain related. As many of you know Drop The Hammer is now over at Steeler Depot with his famous Big Board, thus leaving a void here at BTSC. Andrew and I have been talking back and forth about coming up with a version somewhat similar, but probably less elaborate. We are asking all the draftniks here at BTSC to jump in and help provide some content and help build a “smaller” big board for this great site. I’m asking for help because I have limited time with home life and work. Andrew has posted his own version of a TOP 100 in the Fan Post section, which is now on the main page, but we talked and wanted to do one that would centralize everything as well as expand opinions and rankings from just one individual.
If you are interested, we want to see your version of a TOP 100, it can be as elaborate with likes and dislikes or just simply a ranking. We then will form a consensus and add the names accordingly in a complete ranking. This is just a preliminary effort, hopefully it expands to maybe a Top 300 or something leading up to the draft. We are open for suggestions and any and all help. Let us know in the thread and THANKS in advance.
Back to the show, college football has reached it’s conference championship level and it wasn’t an easy task, cancellations and postponements were a huge part of this season. There were complete conference opt-outs with the uncertainties, there were player opt-outs and opt-back-ins. It has been crazy, but at least there was football to help us with these trying times. Sounds kind of selfish, and I guess it is, but football for three hours gives many people a release of sorts from the world around us.
There were some unfamiliar names in the Top 25 this year, and, if I may say so, one of the best games of the 2020 season came from one of those schools. Coastal Carolina hosted BYU, who at the time had the saying - “any where any time” - provided a back and forth donnybrook. By the way, The Chanticleers won that game.
